It’s been almost four years since the opening of Lincoln BJJ Center, and although at the time I was stressed about my decision to leave the dojo, I believed in LBJJC so much that I paid my entire first year of dues in advance, knowing that I would receive no refund if I quit, or if it went out of business. Of course neither of those things happened, as Lincoln BJJ has fulfilled all of my hopes and expectations.
The advanced class last night reminded me of those early days at Lincoln BJJ, because there were only five students, and they were all OGs (Mike, Adam, Henry, David, and me), so Professor Greg let us choose what we wanted to work on, and everyone rolled with everyone. I love the fact that LBJJC has steadily grown, but once in awhile it’s nice to have a class like that, because even though I’ve trained with all of those guys long enough to know that I’m on the bottom of their feeding chain, it’s still my Jiu-Jitsu comfort zone.
When I started my BJJ journey, I had no idea where it would take me, but I had faith in the owners of LBJJC, and in my bros who walked beside me, and because of them, the last four years have been incredible. I’ve had more fun, and been more challenged and rewarded, than I could’ve ever imagined!
