We come in peace!

"I don't belong on this earth. I always feel out of place-like a visitor." -Hattie McDanielI believe I’ve always been a basically “normal” human (though perhaps a little quirky), yet throughout my life, a part of me has felt like I don’t completely belong on this planet, and now I finally have an explanation for it, because I recently saw this post that says there’s a theory that people with Rh negative blood are descended from aliens, and my blood type is O negative! One of the things the post mentions is that when women with negative blood are pregnant with Rh positive babies, their bodies will reject the fetus, which is why I had to get shots when I was pregnant, or I wouldn’t have been able to carry the little human to term.

I am Marvin the MartianSince people with O- blood can only receive transfusions from other Rh negative people, but our blood can be universally used, I’ve arrived at the conclusion that we aliens have probably come to earth to save the human race. There have been times when I wanted to just give up on humanity (and destroy it!), but the post also said that Rh negatives usually have higher IQs and are more physically and emotionally in tune than the average human (as well as often being gingers!), so I suppose it would be waste for me to not use my superior alien powers for the greater good.

Okay, I don’t really believe that I’m an alien, but it would explain some things, and training Jiu-Jitsu doesn’t help me feel much like a normal human, because it does make me feel a little bit like I have superpowers! Also when I try to tell “normal” people what BJJ is all about, they sometimes look at me as if I’m from another planet, and then they back away slowly.

One place on earth where I usually feel at home is in the advanced classes at Lincoln BJJ, because they’ve been mostly attended my old school bros, but on Wednesday night, half of the students were white belts who I don’t know, and through the years I’ve developed a fear of rolling with unknowns (because they might not come in peace!), especially when they are men who are much bigger than me, and they were on Wednesday. Thankfully, The Professor had my back (metaphorically not physically, although he does that a lot, too!), and he only had me roll with the colored belts, which I greatly appreciated (but the sad thing is that most of my alien superpowers don’t seem to work on them! ;). The closest I came to getting a submission was surprisingly on The Hulk, during positional sparring when I started in side control, and at first when I tried to go for an americana, we both laughed about it (because his arms are almost as big as my legs), but then I was actually able to hook it up, and I think I came closer to getting it than either one of us expected!
