I have no idea how I tweaked my shoulder during BJJ class a couple of weeks ago, but it’s not healing as quickly as I had hoped, and it’s been super pissed with me ever since I trained in the advanced class last Wednesday! In addition to the constant pain, my hand has been continually going numb, so I think I might have a pinched nerve somewhere.
Despite my sore shoulder and narcoleptic hand, I know that I could suck it up and train anyway, which is what I really want to do, but that doesn’t mean that I should. It would probably be best if I went to class and just drilled, but I think watching people roll and not being able to join in is like sitting in a room full of cupcakes, and not being allowed to taste any of them! It’s difficult to resist that kind of temptation, so it’s safer for me to just avoid the cupcake room altogether.
