Before Ethridge Jiu-Jitsu class yesterday, I was still so sore from competition class at Lincoln BJJ on Saturday that I told my husband “Everything I touch hurts.”, and he said “Don’t touch me!”, so I had to clarify that it wouldn’t hurt him, but me. If I really could cause people pain simply by touching them (like Rogue does!) then Jiu-Jitsu would be a lot easier! When I repeated to Amy, our Ethridge class coach, that everything I touch on my body hurts, her response was to poke me and say “Does that hurt?”. Yes, yes it does.
Even though I spent most of Ethridge class throwing and submitting Joe, I was the one who had to ice up after I got home! Here’s a list of my body parts that are currently injured or in pain: upper and lower back, right shoulder, right big toe, right calf muscle, right hip, right knee, left ankle, left wrist, and two of the fingers on my left hand. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying.
Despite my litany of pain, I’m still going to train tonight, because that which does not kill us…hurts like hell! I mean…makes us stronger.

To take a lot of pain, take a lot of pain…” -Nazareth
