After the advanced BJJ class yesterday, I feel like a human piñata. It’s as though I was hanging from my neck, and a bunch of people hit me with a stick! Thankfully I’m tough and I didn’t break open, because I’m pretty sure I’m not filled with delicious candy.
Oh, Jiu-Jitsu, why must you be so difficult? One day I feel like I’m getting the hang of it, and then the next day BJJ tells me “Not so fast, you still don’t know shit!”.
I barely remember what happened in class last night. Scramble technique, side-control gauntlet, lots of rolling. The Professor taking my back and choking me, The Barbarian submitting me twice when he was on the bottom of my side control, The Hulk passing my guard like it was made of swiss cheese, The Professor taking my back and choking me again, El Chupacabra’s side-control and knee-on-belly that squished all the air out of me, The Professor taking my back again…
Still, it was a great day of training! If BJJ was easy, it would probably bore me.
Greg: “Sorry Gina, you don’t get any easy rolls today.”
Me: “I AM the easy roll today.”
