The Future’s So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades)

I’m glad I went to the beginner class at Lincoln BJJ yesterday, because there was actually a woman there for a change! She’s a friend of Fuji’s, and it was her first class, so I’m happy that I happened to be there and was able to do the drills with her, since the only beginner class I’ve routinely been going to lately is the Sunday no gi class (but there wasn’t an advanced class on Wednesday this week, so….). Sam said it was the most fun she’s had in a long time, and she’ll definitely be back!

I don’t even know the names of half of the white belts who were there, and it’s cool to go to the beginner class and continue to see more new faces each time. Lincoln BJJ Center is growing fast, I think 2014 is going to be a great year for us! Fuji took a couple of pictures during the warm-ups yesterday, and I realized if you put them together, you could basically see our entire school.

Lincoln BJJ Center

I’m the blue belt in the white gi on the left!

I ♥ that place and those people, even the ones I don’t know yet! I’m also happy about the fact that Lincoln BJJ now has NINE competitors entered in The Circle of Iron BJJ Championship! That’s almost twice as many as we brought to the VGC a couple of weeks ago, and I’m glad that so many of my bros are going to be there competing with me. Um, I mean competing alongside me, not against me, I would so lose! Except maybe against the teenage boy (but the smart money would be on him ;). I’m even starting to get a little excited about the upcoming tournament, because I think as a whole, Lincoln Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center is going to do well.
