Only two more days! Lincoln Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center will be opening its doors on Wednesday, April 24th, at 6:00 PM! The location is 4009 ‘O’ St., Lincoln, NE, and the phone number is 402-483-1258. There’s a schedule of classes on The Jiu-Jitsu Fighter, and they plan to add more in the future, including daytime and kid’s classes. The sign for the school hasn’t come in yet, so for now it still says “Mommy & Me”, which would actually be appropriate if my daughter was still training Jiu-Jitsu with me!
I still have a lot of questions, not the least of which being what class I’m going to end up training in, since they are split between beginner and advanced. Usually for competition “advanced” is defined as purple belt and above, and I’m blue. Well, actually, I’m going to be wearing a white belt at LBJJ, because I technically don’t have any belt in BJJ, but I have been training Jiu-Jitsu for four years.
Tomorrow will be my last Jiu-Jitsu class at Roseberry’s, so while I am excited about the new school, it is a little bittersweet (and tinged with some fear of the unknown). The interest in LBJJ outside of the dojo has been very positive, and I expect that there are going to be a lot of people there for the grand opening. I’m ready to roll!
